He had been trending towards UCLA but Coach Herman and Coach Warehime put the full court press on him in the last few weeks. As far as talent level goes he is a huge get for Warehime, but add in the depth at the position, he was a MUST get. He uses great pad level in the run game and shows good arm extension on pass protection. What I love about Ghirmai is how relentless he is. His film is full of pancakes and he doesn’t stop until the whistle has blown. He has excellent feet and pretty good balance. There are only a few times when he is off balance and ends up on the ground. He also flashes the ability to get to the second level or the outside on screen plays.
