There has been a lot of smoke coming out of Kentucky about the possibility that 2018 slot WR Rondale Moore may flip his commitment from Texas to Purdue. Jeff Brohm, the current head coach at Purdue graduated from Trinity High School in Louisville which is the same school that Moore currently plays for. The UT staff is aware of the momentum building on this potential flip and are still very actively recruiting Jaylen Waddle. Waddle has been all over the place since the spring and currently Alabama appears to be the favorite to land the talented Bellaire Episcopal prospect. The staff has proven their ability to pull the best talent in the state this year and will not rest with this one until the ink has dried on Waddle's letter of intent to whatever school he chooses. Another potential option could be current OU commit Jaqualyn Crawford. Crawford visited UT back on August 31st and it has been reported that he is the one that actually reached out to the staff to schedule the visit. It's a little unclear how high on the board Crawford sits but it appears they are still in contact pretty regularly. A new option that the UT staff has recently targeted is ATH Julon Williams of Converse Judson. Williams is currently playing QB for Judson and has had a phenomenal year so far. He really broke onto the scene in Judson's opening win over Lake Travis where he led the team passing for 268 yards, rushing for 221 and accounting for five touchdowns.. He currently has 854 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 135 attempts while also throwing for 1,390 yards and 13 TD's this year.
Texas currently has two linebackers committed to the 2018 class (three if you want to count Demarvion Overshown). Another new name to keep an eye on at the LB spot is Alief Taylor's Joseph Ogunbanjo. The current Baylor commit weighs 205lbs at 6'2 making him a solid bet for outside LB.
One name that everyone has probably heard is Kayvon Thibodeaux of Thousand Oaks, CA. While the team is currently in California for the USC game, Coach Oscar Giles is taking the time to go watch the 2019 defensive end play tonight vs. Alemany. USC is currently the leader for Thibodeaux but if Texas can somehow escape the state with a win against his local favorite, it is sure to open the eyes of the 5 star talent.
