I spoke with Branson Bragg about his visit to Texas this afternoon and as you could probably guess the locker room renovations were a big topic of conversation. First off I'd like to say as an outsider looking in, I love the way Herman has his big visit weekends go. More like a vacation or a family reunion than a field trip for the kids and I think that you will see that continue to pay dividends throughout the next few cycles.
Now, back to the original topic. Locker Room: "Stunning.Lights everywhere, the lockers themselves were amazing. They had the locker set up for a few players and I looked at Connor Williams'. Great stuff" I proceeded to ask if that was the general reaction from all the prospects visiting and the answer was a resounding yes.
Bragg himself got tons of facetime with Derek Warehime and current Oline commit Reese Moore. " he (Warehime) showed me around before camp and talked with us after camp for a while and I talked a lot with Reese Moore about why he chose Texas over some other schools that I'm talking to
"
He also told me that there is still no time table for his decision but that his list would start to formulate itself after his visits to Oklahoma, Oklahoma St and Tulsa this weekend. The good news to come from that is that after that was mentioned I asked him about something he had said to me before his visit. Here is the transcript of that and his reaction to that:
"Now that Texas has offered, I wanna see how everything feels for me. Seeing the facilities, really being around the coaches, I think Friday will show me how good of a fit UT is for me as a potential future home"
I asked him this afternoon: "The last time we spoke you said you wanted to see if Texas was a good fit for you as a future home. Do you feel like it's a good fit?"
He responded by saying "I did, it felt like a place I could come in and be a great fit in. That's a main reason that Texas is my leader right now"
